Stephen Kimani

Stephen Kimani, a student in the MSc in Tropical and Subtropical Agriculture (formerly Natural Resources Management for Tropical Rural Development) at the University of Florence, is the 2024 Solazzo Award winner.

The Solazzo Award is a traineeship grant award in memory of David Solazzo, a former student of our University who tragically died during his work as a development expert in Cape Verde, established by the family and friends of Davide, the University of Florence, and COSPE Onlus.

With the awarded funding, Stephen conducted his traineeship in Eswatini, interviewing farmers on the perception and adoption of water-smart technologies (irrigation systems, reservoirs, and other farm water-saving techniques such as mulching). In this video, he tells his experience.
