How to obtain the admission clearance

To enrol in a master’s programme at Unifi,  you need to obtain the admission clearance ("nulla osta"), a document that states that you possess all the requirements indicated in the programme structure for your chosen master's degree.

This document can be obtained after the student's curriculum has been evaluated.

It is possible to request it via the online procedure:

• if you have a previous University degree obtained in Italy (and EU): via the SOL portal (University online services platform). Access the online services platform and follow: menu →segreteria→nulla osta laurea magistrale

• if you have a previous University degree obtained abroad (non EU): via the DreamApply platform

Upload carefully all the required attachments and submit your admission application:

  • application for assessment with date and signature (click here to download)
  • self-declaration of exams taken, with date and signature (please do not upload certificates or other official documents)
  • self-declaration of knowledge of the English language (level B2 of QCER)

The Admission Board will examine and evaluate the application (usually within 30 days) to check if the applicants meet the admission requirements established in the programme description.

  • if you are accepted (idoneo), you obtain admission clearance and are allowed to proceed with the online enrolment
  • if you are not accepted (non idoneo), you will have one or multiple educational debts (debiti formativi) and you will be told which exams you must take before you can have your admission clearance. The exams can be taken by attending single subjects courses (corsi singoli).

Continuing studies from UniFi

Students who are enrolled in a three-year degree course at the University of Florence who intend to continue their studies in a master's degree course in the current academic year, may do so:
    • if the student obtains the degree necessary for admission within the deadline for enrollment in the master's degree, they do not have to renew their enrollment in the three-year degree course, and after obtaining the authorization, they can proceed with online enrollment. If they have already paid for the renewal of the enrollment for the current academic year in the three-year degree course, they can ask the Student Secretariat to use this payment for enrollment in the master's degree;
    • if the student obtains the degree necessary for admission between November and April of that academic year (within the deadlines), they can pay the first installment of the university fees by November, and after obtaining the qualification, said fee will be considered valid as the enrollment fee for the master's degree. The student must also submit their ISEE and request exemptions by the deadlines indicated in the deadline calendar. Their ISEE value and the exemptions requested for the three-year program will be transferred to the new student ID for the master's degree. In this case, the student must submit the enrollment application (form IM_03 available on the forms page) and the admission clearance document to the Student Secretariat by email, within 15 days of graduation and no later than the deadline;
    • if the student does not obtain the the degree necessary for admission by the last session of the academic year, the first instalment of university fees is regularly used to renew the enrolment in the three-year degree course for the current academic year and the student must pay the second instalment of university fees by the deadline;
    • if the student obtains the degree necessary for admission but does not enrol in a master's degree course in the current academic year, they are entitled to a refund of the university fees paid to renew enrolment in the three-year degree course for that academic year (see section 13.7 in the Study Manifesto “Fee Refunds”).
